Some of the up cycled artwork that is so popular at our Island Cowgirl store in Marathon Village. If you happen to be in Nashville come by and say howdy…we have the works of over 100 artists here…as well as my entire line of jewelry. We are loving these inspirational wood signs…they are a big hit with our customers.
We are crushing on our new engagement rings…I am madly in love with halo engagement rings after having made one for my own engagement ring. We have a heart shaped ring surrounded by a halo of sparkly delicate diamonds that we have dubbed our Clementine Halo Ring.
You may have one custom made in 18k yellow gold, 18K peach gold or 14K palladium white gold. The best part is that we offer a traditional diamond center stone or a more budget friendly, eco-conscious option of moissanite. Both are brilliant halo engagement rings and have their own unique characteristics. We also have a rainbow of sapphire center stones to choose from as well.
On the right is our Helena Ring Halo Ring which I am in love with. It is a very unique halo engagement ring that can be customized with all of the different stone options that we offer.
One of our most popular bangles is our Fortune Favors the Bold bangle…not only do they make great gifts but you can stack them up with some of our other bracelets and wear your intentions on your sleeve.
I have always been a great believer that we make our own luck in life. Sure, there are ups and downs…but all too often we love to blame other people for our perceived lack of “luck” or fortune.
Make your own path. Create your own fortune. No one is holding you back…we all live in the same free country with the same opportunities.
Fortune really does favor the bold. And if you love the bangle we have a necklace to match…

Here is sneak peak at our new engagement ring line called Rough Luxe. We wanted to create something unique for the bohemian bride.
One of our favorites is the Past, Present & Future ring which is set with three golden hearts. You may have the choice of diamond or moissanite stones in this ring. Moissanite is a lab grown white gem which was first discovered over 100 years ago when a meteor struck the earth. Their brilliance and fire is 2.4 times that of a diamond. Proven to be harder than a sapphire or a ruby and second only to a diamond, Moissanite is extremely resistant to scratching, breaking or chipping.
The best part is that when it is viewed side by side with a diamond, moissanite stones are typically indistinguishable. They make the perfect eco-friendly and conflict free alternative. A big plus is that they are also very affordable compared to diamonds.
You can check out more of our bridal and anniversary bands here. We are always adding more unique one of a kind alternative engagement rings.
We had 11 attendees staying at my two farms representing rescues throughout the Southeast and California. These people work tirelessly and selflessly throughout the year to save & rehabilitate horses.
I made some new friends, learned quite a bit that I didn’t already know about the ins & outs of rescue and got to visit with two rescues that have been close to my heart. Lana & Becky from Therapony in California and Lori from Sunkissed Acres.
I am honored and humbled to be able to be a small part of the noble and important work these groups do. Please consider a donation…it is always greatly appreciated.
Here is a summary of the event from my friend Lori…who could have been a poet had she not gotten into horse rescue.
This past weekend, myself and 7 others from Horse Rescue United, had the opportunity to gather at the Rescue Horse Coalition in Nashville. It was well attended by rescues from all over the US. I had a chance to connect with some of the rescues I love. Deanna Kafka’s donkey rescue has always had a piece of my heart and more so now. She is so real and so passionate. A small group in California, Therapony, saving them one horse at a time with long term goals. We left with a lot of valuable information but even more so with the realization that we are all equal. We all face the same trials and tribulations. We all deal with the heartache and the successes. The struggles are shared clear across the board whether we have one or 150. Spending the weekend gathering information, sharing experiences and cheering each other on brings on a renewed energy. All the while watching Buddy and Henry both make it home added to the glory. It was a weekend I won’t forget for a while I can assure you. And sitting with the groups from Georgia who I work with on a daily basis, the best. We laughed, we cried, we planned, we committed. We are rescue.
We are proud to announce our new Bridal division which offers organic and unique engagement rings for the bohemian bride. Rough + Luxe Jewelry was born out of creating my own engagement ring and the many requests from customers for heirloom quality diamond & sapphire engagement rings, anniversary band and wedding bands.
You may view our unique, alternative Bridal and Engagement line on our website at Rough Luxe Jewelry.
Rest in peace, my friend. He was a force of nature, a shining light of musical brilliance and really did see the world through purple colored glasses.
He had a nightclub near mine in Miami…and would come into our club with a cane & his crazy outfits that only he could wear…and I would make him Kahlua & cream…shaken like a milkshake. It had to be made just so. He never really drank it…he would just let it get warm and I would bring him another.
He was funny, eccentric, surprisingly shy and kind. He loved to watch the club chaos and was a great observer.
I had the honor of attending his birthday one year at his nightclub, Glam Slam which was an old theatre. He played non stop on stage until 3am…I have never seen anyone so talented or musically brilliant in my life. Or since then.
You will be missed by all. We lost one of the great ones…
“I have always considered myself a free spirit with a gypsy soul…surrendering gratefully to wherever life takes me”…Our new Gypsy Heart Bracelet reminds us that it is ok to be different & go where your heart leads you…wherever that may be.
